긴 목에 벌어진 능화형 구연을 가진 청화백자호입니다. 구연은 24각으로 이루어졌으며, 어깨에는 두 마리의 이룡(螭龍)을 첩화하였습니다. 동체 중앙에는 백택(白澤)으로 보이는 서수문(瑞獸紋)을 시문하고, 주변에 매화나무, 불로초, 괴석을 배치하였습니다. 구연에서 굽까지 화당초문(花唐草紋), 파초엽문(芭蕉葉紋), 모란절지문(牡丹折枝紋), 당초문(唐草紋), 연판문(蓮瓣紋) 등의 부속 문양을 시문하였습니다.
중앙의 서수는 기린을 닮은 모습에 비늘, 뿔, 갈기, 발톱을 갖추고 있습니다. 발굽이 아닌 발톱을 지닌 점에서 지조수(趾爪獸)라 하며, 백택으로 추정됩니다. 백택은 황제가 동해에서 만났다고 전해지는 신수로, 사람의 말을 이해하고 만물에 정통한 존재입니다. 귀신과 요괴를 물리치는 벽사와 수호, 덕 있는 통치와 태평성대를 상징합니다. 길상과 벽사의 의미를 함께 담은 유물입니다.
24각의 능화형 구연과 이룡 첩화는 숙련된 성형 기술을 보여줍니다. 동체를 가득 채운 세밀한 청화 문양에서는 뛰어난 회화성이 돋보입니다. 큰 크기에도 안정된 균형미를 갖추어 원대 청화백자의 높은 제작 수준과 조형적 완성도를 보여줍니다.

青花罐长颈、菱花形撇口。口沿由24个棱角组成，肩部以贴花技法装饰两条螭龙。器身中央绘饰一只疑似白泽的瑞兽纹，周围配置梅树、灵芝与怪石纹样。自口沿至圈足，依次饰有缠枝花纹、蕉叶纹、折枝牡丹纹、缠枝纹、莲瓣纹等辅助纹样。
中央瑞兽形似麒麟，身具鳞片、双角、鬃毛与利爪。因其足部并非蹄足，而是具有爪趾，故称“趾爪兽”，推测为白泽。白泽相传为黄帝在东海所遇之神兽，能够听懂人言，并通晓万物。其寓意驱邪避凶、守护平安，同时象征有德之治与太平盛世。此器兼具吉祥与辟邪之意，是一件蕴含丰富祥瑞寓意的器物。
24棱菱花形口沿与螭龙贴花装饰，展现了娴熟的成型与装饰技艺。器身满饰细密的青花纹样，呈现出卓越的绘画表现力。尽管器形硕大，整体仍具有稳定协调的均衡之美，体现了元代高超的制瓷技术与审美造诣。

A blue-and-white jar with a tall neck and a widely flared, lozenge-shaped rim. The rim is formed with 24 facets, while two chilong dragons are applied to the shoulder. At the center of the body is an auspicious beast, possibly a bai ze, surrounded by plum blossoms, lingzhi, and ornamental rocks. The vessel is further decorated from rim to foot with bands of floral scrolls, banana leaves, peony branches, scrollwork, and lotus petals.
The central auspicious beast resembles a qilin, with a scaled body, horn, mane, and claws. As it is depicted with claws rather than hooves, it is considered a zhi zhao shou, or clawed beast, and is identified as a possible bai ze. According to legend, the bai ze was a mythical beast encountered by the Yellow Emperor in the East Sea. It was said to understand human speech and possess knowledge of all things. It symbolized protection against evil spirits and demons, as well as the protection of the realm, virtuous rule, and an age of peace and prosperity. The vessel thus embodies both auspicious and protective meanings.
The 24-faceted lozenge-shaped rim and applied chilong dragons demonstrate a high level of skill in forming and modelling. The finely rendered blue-and-white decoration covering the body displays exceptional pictorial quality. Despite its large size, the vessel is distinguished by a well-balanced and harmonious form, reflecting the advanced technical and aesthetic achievements of the Yuan dynasty.
