뚜껑이 있고 복부가 둥글며 굽이 높고 밖으로 살짝 뻗어있는 모양의 항아리이다.
복부 양쪽에는 붉은색 서수 얼굴 귀 모양이 붙어있으며, 외벽에는 연노란색 바탕 위에 분채(粉彩)로 보상화가 그려져 있고 몸체 중앙에 모란꽃이 그려져 있다. 분채(粉彩)는 도자기를 채색하는 가루 형태의 전통 안료로서 색상이 많고 색의 농담이 자유로워 사람 ∙ 꽃 ∙ 새 등을 세밀하게 표현할 수 있다.
굽 바닥에는 청나라 건륭제(1736~1795) 때 만들어졌음을 알려주는 '대청건륭년제(大清乾隆年製)' 라는 관지(款識)가 쓰여 있다.
该罐有盖，鼓腹，高足外撇。
腹部两侧饰对称红色兽首衔环耳，外壁以娇黄釉为地，上绘粉彩宝相花纹，瓶身绘牡丹花纹。粉彩是彩绘陶瓷的粉末状传统颜料，色彩多样，浓淡自由，刻画人物，花，鸟等质感都很强。
底足刻有“大清乾隆年制”款识，意为乾隆帝时(1736~1795年) 制造。
A famille-rose enamelled jar with an ovoid body and cover mounted on a splayed pedestal.
A pair of carved red mythical-beast masks are applied symmetrically on the belly, and floral scrolls are enamelled against the light yellow ground. The body is flanked in the middle by two medallions enclosing peonies. Fencai (粉彩) is a traditional powdery pigment for pottery painting with pallets consisting of many colors and free with light and shade, which enables delicate painting of figures, flowers, birds, and so on.
The base is inscribed with a six-character seal mark reading Daqing Qianlong Nian Zhi, indicating that the present work was produced during the Qianlong era (1736~1795) of the Qing dynasty.
