명나라를 대표하는 최고의 화가 문징명(1470~1559)이 1525년에 그린 산수화이다.
문징명은 화가이자 서예가, 문학가이며 소주부(蘇州府) 장주현(長州縣) 지금의 소주시(蘇州市)에서 태어났다.
이 산수화는 문징명이 55세때 한림대조로 근무하면서 그린 것으로 본인의 고향 산천 실경을 청록산수로 생생하게 묘사하여 그려낸 걸작이다.
그림의 왼쪽 끝 상단에는 명 가정 4년 (1525) 가을에 그렸다는 내용의 글과 함께 호와 이름을 쓰고 문징명인(文徵明印) 낙관을 찍어두어 제작연대를 알 수 있다.
섬세한 필치와 담백한 색상으로 풍경과 인물들의 모습을 생동감 있게 그렸으며, 산등성이와 바위에는 연두색의 태점을 찍어 그림에 활력을 주었다.
이러한 태점은 사실적인 채색화인 청록산수화(靑綠山水畵)의 특징으로 사실적인 표현을 중시했음을 알 수 있다.
현재 다보성 갤러리에 소장되어 있는 이 문징명의 산수도는 그림의 가로 길이가 무려 903cm 로 그 길이가 압도적으로 길 뿐만 아니라, 그림의 왼쪽 끝에 명나라 말기 대표적인 서화가이자 문화재 수집가인 동기창(董其昌 1555-1636)이 소장했음을 알수 있는 동기창의 낙관이 남아있고, 후대 문인들 금농(金农 1687-1764), 왕원기(王原祁 1642-1715), 달중광(笪重光 1623-1692)의 글씨와 낙관도 그림과 함께 남아있어 그만큼 귀한 유물로 판단된다.

文征明是画家，也是文学家，出生于苏州府长州县，即今天的苏州市。
该作品是文征明55岁任翰林院待诏时所绘，是一幅形象描绘其故乡的山川风景的杰作。
画左上方写有作于明嘉靖4年（1525年）年秋内容的文字，以及号与写有名字“文征明印”的落款，可知该画的创作年代。
笔触细腻，颜色淡雅，生动刻画人物形象，山脊和岩石上点缀淡绿色胎点，赋予画面以生机。
这种胎点是写实彩绘青绿山水画的特征，作为文人画家，可见其不仅重视绘画的写意与现实性的表现。
现在收藏在多宝星古美术馆的该文征明山水画的长有903厘米，不仅长度超乎想象，其上还留有后人金农（1687-1764年），王原祁（1642-1715年），笪重光（1623-1692年）的字迹与落款，被认为是珍贵的文物。

The present work was painted by Wen Zhengming when he was 55 years old and was in the Imperial Academy. It is a masterpiece that vividly depicts the mountains and rivers of his hometown as blue-green shan shui.
On the upper left of the painting, there is a script saying that it was painted in the autumn of the 4th year of Jiajing in the Ming Dynasty (1525), showing the creation date of the painting, as well as a sign and a seal mark reading Wen Zheng Ming Yin.
The brushstrokes are delicate and the colors are light and elegant, vividly depicting the characters, and the ridges and rocks are dotted with light green spots, giving the picture vitality.
This kind of pointing technique is characteristic of realistic colored green landscape painting. It can be seen that he not only pays attention to the freehand brushwork as a literati painter but also to the realistic expression of painting.
The Wen Zhengming landscape painting now collected in the Daboseong Gallery is 903cm long. Not only is the length beyond imagination, but there are seal marks of the representative calligrapher and collector Dong Qichang (1555-1636) from the late Ming Dynasty, proving that the present work was owned by him, and other later literati including Jin Nong (1687-1764), Wang Yuanqi (1642-1715), and Ta Shigemitsu (1623-1692), telling that the present work is a precious cultural relics.
