살아남으려면, 이 세상에서 하나뿐인 그 무엇? 그 무엇을 찾아내야 한다. 

서울 종로구 삼일대로 457(경운동88) 수운회관 1층에 있는 '다보성 고미술(갤러리)'의 김종춘 회장(75. 전북 남원 출신)을 만났다.

이 분은 고미술협회 회장을 지낸 분이다. 지난 51년 간 한중일 고(古)예술-미술품들을 모아왔다. "그간 수집한 한중일 고미술품 소장품이 5만여점에 달한다"고 말했다. 이런 규모의, 엄청난 예술품을 소장한 '큰손 소장가(所藏家)'는 처음 만났다.

이 분은 이 고미술품을 활용, 박물관 설립의 꿈을 꾸고 있다. 반면에, 이 소장품으로 박물관을 설립하려는 미래 소장가를 찾고 있다.

필자는 2월22일 오후, '다보성 고미술(갤러리)'에서 김종춘 회장을 만났다. 이 분이 앞장서서 주요-귀중한 소장품들을 소개해줬다. 수운회관 1층-2층-4층 전시장과 수장고에 가득한 한중일 고 미술품을 소개해줬다. 우리나라가 중국보다 경제가 먼저 발전한 때문인지, 중국 현지에서 수집된 중국산 고미술품이 많이 소장돼 있었다.

대한민국, 대단한 국가이다. 김종춘 회장이 소장한 고미술품 등이 '대한민국=문화대국'을 만들어가는 문화자산으로 보여졌다.
