붉은빛을 띄는 갈색 나무 바탕에 황금색 경첩과 금속 장석을 사용하여 화려하게 꾸민 경기 반닫이이다.
경첩은 부채꼴 모양을 하고 있으며 천판과 연결된 부위의 앞바탕에는 '만(卍)'자와 여의 문양이 투각되어 있다.
조선시대 왕실 궁궐이 서울과 경기지역에 위치했기에, 경기지역에서 사용한 반닫이는 대부분왕실과 사대부 또는 부유한 집안에서 쓰던 목가구로 여겨진다.
경기 반닫이는 다른 지역의 반닫이에 비하여, 높이가 높고 장석이 크며, 호리병 모양의 황동 경첩과 동식물 문양의 배꼽 장석 등을 갖춘 특징이 있다.

朝鲜时代王室宫殿位于首尔和京畿地区，因此京畿地区使用的箱式柜大部分被认为是王室和士大夫或富裕家庭使用的木家具。
京畿箱式柜与其他地区的箱式柜相比，具有高度高、金属装饰更大、葫芦瓶状的黄铜铰链和箱肚脐上动植物图案的金属装饰‘’等特点。
