장은 보통 옷을 넣어서 안방에 두는 가구로 천판과 기둥, 마대로 이루어져 있다.
느티나무로 만들어진 이 삼층장은 지금으로부터 약 250년 전 조선 후기에 제작된 것으로 추정되는데, 옻칠 상태나 장식 등의 보존 상태가 매우 좋다.
이 삼층장의 천판 바로 아래쪽에는 4개의 서랍이 있고 그 아래 같은 구조의 여닫이 문이 달린 장이 붙어 있으며, 맨 아래층에는 좌우 대칭으로 여닫이 문이 짝을 이루며 하나씩 달려 있다. 문짝 안에는 8개의 옆면에 모두 그림이 그려져 있어 제작 당시 매우 공을 들여 만들었음을 알 수 있다. 경첩 등의 장석은 황동으로 이루어져 고급스런 느낌을 준다. 당시 왕족이나 사대부가에서 사용했을 것으로 추정되는 귀한 유물이다.

据推测，用榉树制作的该三层柜是在距今约250年前的朝鲜后期制作的，漆状态和装饰等保存状态非常好。该三层柜的顶板正下方有4个抽屉，下面附有相同结构的推拉门的柜子，最下层左右对称的推拉门成对，一个一个地挂着。门板内的8个侧面都有画，可见当时制作非常用心。铰链等长石由黄铜构成，给人以奢侈感。据推测，这是当时王族或士大夫家使用的珍贵文物。
