조선 전기에 제작된 흑유음각어문장군(黑釉陰刻魚文長罐)으로, 검은 유약을 씌운 도자기에 물고기 문양을 음각으로 새긴 소형 장군입니다.
장군은 술, 기름, 물 등 액체를 저장하거나 운반하는 데 사용되었으며, 보통 제의용으로 활용되었습니다. 몸통이 길고 중앙에 입구가 나 있는 ‘장본(獐本)’ 혹은 ‘장분(長盆)’이라 불리는 독특한 구조를 지녔으며, 크기로 보아 소형의 제사용 유물로 추정됩니다.
철분이 다량 함유된 흑유를 사용하였으며 고온에서 소성되어 깊은 광택과 중후한 색조를 띱니다. 유약이 얇게 칠해진 부위는 갈색빛이, 두껍게 칠해진 부위는 흑색빛이 나타나는 등 농담의 변화가 특징입니다. 또한 흑유 도자기는 고급 청자를 구웠던 가마에서 부수적으로 생산되어 상류층의 도자기로 주로 활용되었습니다.
몸통의 정중앙에 음각 어문이 시문되어 있는데 물고기는 다산과 풍요, 부귀를 상징하는 도상으로 관료의 옥대 장식에도 자주 사용되었을 만큼 길상의 의미를 지녔습니다.
검은 유약의 광택과 문양의 조화는 단순한 유물을 넘어 조선 도자의 미적 감각을 엿볼 수 있는 예라 할 수 있습니다.

器物制造于朝鲜前期，先在陶器表面施以黑釉后，以阴刻技法雕刻鱼纹。
此类长罐通常用于盛放或运输酒、油、水等液体，多为祭祀用途。短颈长腹、口沿设于器体中央的特殊结构，也称为“獐本”或“长盆”，从其尺寸判断，应为一件小型祭祀用器。
器身施以富含铁成分的黑釉，高温烧制后呈现出深邃光泽与沉稳色调。釉层薄处呈现棕褐色，厚处则显黑色，浓淡的自然过渡是其特征。黑釉陶器多由烧造高级青瓷的窑口兼制，主要供上层社会使用。
器物腹部中央以阴刻技法装饰鱼纹。鱼象征多子、丰饶与富贵，亦常见于官员玉带饰件之上，具有浓厚的吉祥寓意。

This is a small black-glazed jar with incised fish motifs, made during the early Joseon Dynasty. The jar is coated with a dark glaze, and fish patterns are carved into its surface.
Jars of this kind were typically used for storing or transporting liquids such as wine, oil, or water, often in ritual contexts. This piece features a distinctive structure known as jangbon (獐本) or jangbun (長盆), characterized by a tall body and a central opening. Given its size, it is presumed to be a small ritual vessel.
The glaze contains a high concentration of iron and was fired at high temperatures, producing a deep luster and a rich, dark hue. Where the glaze is applied thinly, it appears brown, while thicker areas turn black—creating a notable tonal contrast. Black-glazed ceramics like this were often produced as supplementary wares at kilns that primarily made high-quality celadon for the aristocracy.
At the center of the body is an incised fish motif. In Korean art, fish symbolized fertility, abundance, and wealth, and were considered auspicious—frequently appearing on the jade belts of the officials.
The interplay between the glossy black glaze and the carved design exemplifies the aesthetic sensitivity of Joseon ceramics, elevating the piece beyond mere functionality.
