연꽃잎을 돛단배처럼 형상화한 향꽂이입니다. 연꽃잎의 끝부분에는 연밥이 있고 그 위에 작은 인물상이 앉아 있어 마치 물 위의 배 모습을 연상시킵니다. 연밥 중앙에는 향을 꽂을 수 있도록 구멍이 마련되어 있습니다. 연꽃은 불교에서 청정과 해탈을 상징하며, 꽃과 열매가 동시에 맺히는 특징 때문에 생명력과 풍요를 의미합니다. 연꽃과 향을 피우는 행위, 스님을 닮은 작은 인물상은 불교적 세계관을 보여줍니다.
여요(汝窯)에서 제작된 유물로 여요는 송대 5대 가마(여요, 관요, 가요, 균요, 정요) 중에서도 으뜸으로 꼽히는 요장(窯場)입니다. 유물 전체에 시유된 유약은 여요 특유의 천청유(天青釉)로 은은한 하늘빛 담청색을 띱니다. 유약층에 형성된 빙렬은 여요 도자의 대표적인 특징으로 세밀한 갈라짐이 맑은 유약색과 어우러집니다. 유물의 바닥에는 세 개의 지정지마흔(支釘芝麻痕)이 남아 있습니다. 이는 가마에서 소성할 때 뾰족한 지정 위에 올려 굽는 과정에서 생긴 흔적입니다. 여요의 도자는 수량이 적고 귀중하여 이 유물은 황실이나 귀족층이 사용했을 것으로 추정됩니다.
此香插以荷花花瓣形象化为小舟，花瓣末端的莲蓬上坐有小人像，仿佛漂浮于水面。莲蓬中央设香孔，可插香使用。莲花在佛教中象征清净与解脱，花果并生寓意生命力与丰饶，似僧人的小像与焚香行为体现佛教意境。
器物来自于宋代五大名窑（汝、官、哥、钧、定）之首的汝窑。全器施汝窑天青釉，釉色淡雅如天空，釉面开片细密清晰，为汝窑典型特征，细密的裂纹与清澈的釉色相互映衬。底部三处支钉痕，是在窑中烧造时，器物置于尖细支钉上托烧所留下的痕迹。汝窑瓷器存世稀少珍贵，此件可能曾为皇室或贵族所用。
This incense holder is shaped like a lotus petal resembling a small boat with a sail. At the end of the leaf sits a lotus seed pod, and on top of it is a small figurine, giving the impression of a boat floating on water. In the center of the seed pod, there is a hole designed to hold incense. In Buddhism, the lotus symbolizes purity and enlightenment, and because it simultaneously bears both flowers and seeds, it also represents vitality and abundance. The combination of the lotus, the act of burning incense, and the small monk-like figurine reflects a Buddhist worldview.
The piece was produced at the Ru kilns, considered the finest among the Five Great Kilns of the Song dynasty (Ru, Guan, Ge, Jun, and Ding). The glaze covering the entire surface is Ru ware’s distinctive sky-blue glaze, with a soft, pale bluish tone reminiscent of the heavens. Fine crackles formed in the glaze — a hallmark of Ru ceramics — blend harmoniously with the serene color. On the base of the piece remain three sesame-seed marks (支钉芝麻痕), traces left from being supported on pointed stilts during firing in the kiln. Because Ru ware was produced in very limited quantities and regarded as precious, this incense holder was likely used by the imperial court or the aristocracy.
