깊은 사각 몸체에 두 개의 귀(耳)가 있고, 물고기 지느러미 모양의 다리가 바깥으로 뻗어 있습니다. 고대 청동 예기인 방정(方鼎)을 모방한 형태로, 북송 황실의 복고적 미의식과 유교적 예제 사상을 반영한 유물입니다.
동체 상단에는 마주 보는 기룡(夔龍)을, 하단에는 도철(饕餮)을 시문하였으며, 모서리를 포함한 여덟 곳에는 출극(出戟)이 입체적으로 표현되어 있습니다. 기룡은 용의 형상을 한 상상의 동물 문양으로 권위와 위엄을 상징하며, 도철은 고대 신화에 등장하는 괴수로 탐욕을 경계하는 의미와 함께 권위·위엄·벽사의 상징으로 사용되었습니다. 출극은 창(戟)의 날 형태를 본뜬 것으로 승리와 영광, 벽사의 의미를 지닙니다.
전면에는 천청색(天青色) 유약을 시유하였으며, 표면에는 갈색 개편(開片)이 부분적으로 나타납니다. 굽 바닥에는 ‘지정지마흔(支釘芝麻痕)’이라 불리는 6개의 규석 받침 자국이 남아 있습니다. 북송 5대 명요(여요·관요·가요·균요·정요) 중 하나인 여요에서 제작된 것으로 추정됩니다.
器身呈深腹方形，两侧附双耳，四足作鱼鳍状向外伸展。整体仿照古代青铜礼器方鼎的造型，体现了北宋皇室崇尚复古的审美意识以及儒家礼制思想。
器身上部饰相对的夔龙纹，下部饰饕餮纹，连同四角在内共八处立体装饰出戟。夔龙是具有龙形特征的神兽纹样，象征权威与威严；饕餮是中国古代神话中的神兽，具有警示贪欲之意，同时也是权威、威严与辟邪的象征。出戟仿照戟刃的形制塑造，寓意胜利、荣耀与辟邪。
器物通体施天青釉，表面局部可见褐色开片。圈足底部留有六处支烧钉痕。推测为北宋五大名窑（汝窑、官窑、哥窑、钧窑、定窑）之一的汝窑所烧造。
This vessel has a deep square body with a pair of loop handles and fish-fin-shaped legs extending outward. Its form imitates the ancient bronze ritual vessel fangding, reflecting the Northern Song imperial court’s revival of antiquity and Confucian ritual ideals.
The upper body is decorated with confronting kuilong motifs, while the lower body features taotie motifs. Eight raised flanges, including those on the corners, are rendered in three dimensions. The kuilong is a mythical creature in the form of a dragon, symbolizing authority and dignity. The taotie is a legendary beast from ancient mythology, used as a symbol of authority, prestige, and protection against evil, while also conveying a warning against greed. The raised flanges are shaped after the blades of ancient halberds and symbolize victory, glory, and the power to ward off evil.
The entire surface is covered with a sky-blue glaze, with areas of brown crackle appearing on the glaze surface. Six quartz support marks, known as zhiding zhimahen, remain on the base. Based on these characteristics, the vessel is believed to have been produced at the Ru kiln, one of the Five Great Kilns of the Northern Song dynasty (Ru, Guan, Ge, Jun, and Ding).
