이 유물은 정요 특유의 고급 백자입니다. 독특한 기형과 내부의 정교한 첩화 기법이 주목됩니다. 도자의 외면은 물레 성형 과정에서 만든 완만한 회선(回線)이 겹겹이 남아있습니다. 구연부는 일정한 간격으로 굴곡진 파도 물결(波狀)처럼 표현되어 율동감이 느껴집니다. 이는 파상구(波狀口)라 불리며 중국 도자의 기형 중 하나입니다.
가장 주목되는 부분은 그릇 내부 바닥의 개구리 한 쌍(雙蛙像)과 연꽃(蓮花像)입니다. 연꽃과 개구리는 각각 고결함과 다산의 상징으로 북송대 귀족들이 선호하던 취향과 깊이 연결됩니다. 도자기 내부 중심에는 씨방이 드러난 연꽃이 반개해있습니다. 연꽃잎과 씨방은 녹유로 시유되어 녹색을 띠고 있습니다. 그 양옆으로는 개구리 두 마리가 서로 마주 보고 앉아 있는 형태로 표현되었습니다. 개구리는 섬세하게 성형되었고 갈색 산화철 안료로 부분 채색되어 입체감과 사실감을 더했습니다. 이 첩화 상형들은 연못 속 개구리와 연꽃을 묘사한 것으로 보입니다.

此器物为典型的定窑白瓷，器形独特，内壁精致的贴花工艺尤为引人注目。器物外壁可见成型时留下的弦纹，口沿则呈荷叶状。
器物最引人注目的部分是内底的双蛙与莲花贴花装饰。莲花象征高洁，青蛙寓意多子多福，两者深受北宋时期贵族阶层的喜爱，反映了当时的审美取向。器物内底饰一朵半开、露出蓮蓬的莲花，莲瓣与蓮蓬以绿色釉彩绘。莲花两侧各贴塑一只对坐的青蛙，其上局部施以褐色氧化铁彩，增强了真实感与立体效果，仿佛展现出水池中莲花与青蛙共处的自然意境。

This piece is a fine example of high-quality white porcelain unique to Ding ware. It draws attention with its unusual form and the exquisite applied decoration found on the interior. The exterior surface of the bowl retains gently spiraled traces from the wheel-throwing process. The rim is shaped in rhythmic undulations, resembling the motion of waves—referred to as wave-shaped mouth, a distinctive form in Chinese ceramic design.
The most striking feature of the bowl is the pair of frogs and a lotus flower on the interior bottom. In the Northern Song dynasty, both the lotus and frog symbolized ideals admired by the nobility: the lotus for purity and the frog for fertility. At the center of the bowl, a partially open lotus reveals its seedpod. The petals and pod are glazed with celadon, giving them a green hue. Flanking the lotus are two facing frogs, sculpted in a lifelike seated posture. The frogs are finely modeled and selectively colored with brown iron oxide pigment, enhancing their three-dimensionality and realism. These applied motifs depict a pond scene with frogs and a lotus in harmony.
This porcelain bowl exemplifies the pinnacle of Northern Song Ding ware through its combination of applied decoration, uniquely shaped wave rim, and symbolically rich imagery. The rippling contour and interior portrayal of a pond make this artifact particularly rare, with no known parallels. Such characteristics suggest that it was likely produced for court or aristocratic use.
