경기도 반닫이는 조선시대 궁중과 사대부가에서 사용한 고급 목가구로, 전면 절반을 여닫는 형태입니다. 크고 화려한 금속 장석, 큰 키, 격식 있는 외형은 경기도 반닫이의 대표적 특징입니다.
이 반닫이는 단단하고 결이 선명한 느티나무를 사용하여 내구성과 미감을 동시에 갖추었습니다. 또한, 붉은빛 갈색 목재에 황동 장석을 사용하여 미감과 견고함을 높였습니다. 배꼽 장석의 ‘卍(만)’자 문양은 길상을 상징하며 주로 궁중에서 사용되었습니다.
내부 상단에는 네 개의 서랍이 있어 공간 활용 효율을 높이고, 정면 손잡이와 측면 들쇠는 사용에 편의를 더합니다.

此京畿道半开箱是朝鲜时代宫廷与士大夫阶层使用的高级木家具，其特点是在正面上半部分开合。其造型高大、结构规整，搭配华丽硕大的金属饰件，是京畿道半开箱的典型特征。
本件采用质地坚硬、木纹清晰的榉木，兼具耐久性与美观性。箱体以带红棕色调的木材为基底，配以黄铜饰件，进一步提升了视觉美感与整体坚固度。“卍”字形肚脐锁饰寓意吉祥，常见于宫廷家具中。
箱体内部上方设有四个抽屉，提高了空间利用效率；正面把手与侧面的提环也增强了使用的便利性。

Chests from Gyeonggi Province were high-end wooden furniture used in royal courts and aristocratic households during the Joseon Dynasty. Their defining features include a lid that opens halfway across the front, large and ornate metal fittings, tall stature, and a formal appearance.
This chest is made from zelkova wood, known for its durability and prominent grain, enhancing both its strength and beauty. The reddish-brown wood is accented with brass fittings, which add both elegance and robustness. The swastika (卍) design on the central fitting symbolizes good fortune and was mainly used in royal settings.
Four drawers are placed at the upper interior to maximize space usage, while front handles and side lifting hardware enhance convenience.
