호리병 모양의 경첩, 꽃무늬 장석, '장수와 복(壽福), 아들을 많이 낳아(多男) 번창을 바란다'는 길상구(吉祥句)가 새겨진 잠금장치, 박쥐 모양 손잡이 등 다채로운 문양이 있습니다. 본 용도에 충실하면서도 미감을 높이고 복, 장수, 부귀 등 길상 의미를 더합니다.
내부 상단에는 세 개의 서랍, 하단에는 넉넉한 수납공간을 두어 공간 활용에 용이합니다.
전통 사개물림 짜임은 뒤틀림을 방지하고 구조적 안정을 더하며, 당대 장인의 숙련도를 보여줍니다.

此京畿道半开箱是朝鲜时代宫廷与士大夫阶层使用的高级木家具，其特点是在正面上半部分开合。其造型高大、结构规整，搭配华丽硕大的金属饰件，是京畿道半开箱的典型特征。
本器选用质地坚硬、木纹清晰的榉木制成，兼具坚固耐用与视觉美感。

It includes gourd-shaped hinges, floral metal fittings, and a locking mechanism engraved with auspicious phrases such as "longevity and good fortune (壽福)" and "wishing for many sons (多男) and prosperity." The bat-shaped handles further enhance the symbolic richness. While faithful to its functional purpose, the chest is enriched with visual appeal and auspicious meanings such as blessings, longevity, and wealth.
Inside, three drawers at the top and a spacious lower compartment make it highly functional.
Traditional dovetail joinery prevents warping and adds structural stability, demonstrating the craftsmanship of the era’s artisans.
