경상도는 따뜻한 기후로 집의 층고가 낮은 편이며, 이에 따라 가구도 좌우로 길고 높이가 낮습니다. 앞면 전체에는 금속 경첩과 손잡이 같은 장석이 반복적으로 배치되어 규칙성이 드러납니다. 문판 가장자리에는 광두정(光頭釘)이라 불리는 장식용 못이 일정하게 박혀 있어, 기능성과 더불어 미감을 더합니다. 또한, 전통 사개물림 짜임으로 뒤틀림을 방지하며 당시 장인의 숙련도가 보입니다.

庆尚道气候温暖，传统住宅屋高较低，相应地，家具也多呈横长、低矮的形制。柜体正面装配有金属铰链与提环等装饰件，呈规则排列，赋予整体以秩序感。门板边缘均匀钉饰有被称为“光头钉”的装饰钉，兼具实用与美观。此外，整件家具采用传统榫卯工艺，有效防止结构扭曲，充分体现了当时匠人的高超技艺。

This bandaji (half-opening chest) from Gyeongsang Province exudes a dignified presence through its dark-toned wood and large iron fittings. The front panel opens halfway, and the closely joined wooden boards display a stable structure with visible wood grain.
Due to the region’s warm climate, houses in Gyeongsang Province tend to have lower ceilings, resulting in furniture that is wide and low. Iron hinges and handles are arranged across the front with rhythmic regularity, adding a sense of order. Along the edges of the front panel, evenly spaced gwangdujeong (decorative nail heads) enhance not only functionality but also visual appeal. The chest’s traditional sage-mullim (interlocking joint) construction prevents warping and showcases the artisan's craftsmanship.
